Each year, OSHA presents Safe + Sound Week, highlighting the importance of safety throughout the workplace. Danella’s core beliefs in Pride in Everything We Do is strongly supported by our commitment to safety in all aspects.
Our safety philosophy has multiple facets to create a comprehensive training plan and daily monitoring of activities to ensure safety is top of mind at all times.
Our initiatives include:
- Safety Education: New hires undergo a full-day safety orientation, followed by ongoing training throughout their career. We believe that the true measure of safety success is that each and every one of our employees goes home every day to families and loved ones in the same condition that he or she came to work.
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA): Conducted daily and whenever conditions change—ensuring all potential hazards are anticipated and controlled. All incidents are preventable. This is a mindset or way of doing business, not just a goal. We expect our employees to believe that incidents (and their resulting injuries or damages) are not an acceptable part of doing business.
- Near-Miss Program: Employees report near misses (close calls) without fear of discipline; lessons learned are shared in meetings to prevent actual incidents.
- Fall Prevention & Protection Program: Requires site-specific planning, training for elevated work (6 ft+), and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Fleet Safety Program: Adheres to FMCSA regulations, ensures proper vehicle inspection records, driver qualifications, and maintenance logs.
- Safety Hotline: Danella has a dedicated safety hotline and email address for employees and the public to report any concerns.
Danella’s commitment to safety extends beyond one week, it’s year-round and a constantly evolving program dedicated to ensuring safety at every point in our culture. For more information about our safety standards, visit: https://danella.com/about-danella/safety/
