2025 Danella Safety Summit Recap

September 9 – 11, the Danella team gathered from across the country in Plymouth Meeting, PA, for the Annual Safety Summit.  Throughout the three-day summit, division leaders, safety managers, and operations shared ideas, learned about new technologies to be integrated, tools, and industry trends.

Day One

The opening remarks from day one shared information regarding the impacts from the 2024 Safety Summit, along with a reminder about who we are, our mission, and the goal of achieving profitable growth. This day focused on divisional leadership, primarily with discussions opening up around Human and Organization Performance (HOP), along with Project Lifesaver (PLS) and integrations of strategic safety plans led by ACIG (American Contractors Insurance Group) leadership. Division leadership also engaged in planning strategies for safety. The afternoon featured an engaging panel discussion with several attorneys on accident investigations and best practices. Based on feedback, this panel was one of the most engaging of the day, second only to division best practices, which ended the day with leadership sharing one thing that each of their locations is doing that might be different. This session was extremely well received by all, as it provided another avenue for continued engagement in open communication by leadership.

Day Two

Day 2 saw the summit expand to include operation leaders and safety managers, and a change in meeting space as the number of participants increased to nearly 100. This increase in participants continues the commitment to engaging every employee in conversation, whether it be about safety, tools, or just having information. The day consisted of sessions ranging from new technology integrations from Factorlabs and Motive (Vehicle Telematics), along with continued conversations about Mindforge. One of the best sessions, as ranked by attendees via survey, was a Claims Best Practices discussion from the Danella Claims team. Employees also engaged in team building and project management quality techniques using Legos during the closing session on Quality 101. They had to effectively build a Lego set within the allotted time, reporting back on the project management, budget, and more. The winner was primarily made up of individuals from Danella Construction, Inc., out of Archdale, NC.

Day Three

To wrap up the 2025 Danella Safety Summit, Day 3 engaged operational management and safety team members on field visits throughout the Philadelphia region. This hands-on approach helped team members understand how different types of work, outside of their regions and expertise, are handled.

Overall, the 2025 summit involved active engagement and learning from this year’s attendees, with divisions and locations from across the country in attendance. The emphasis continues to be on the good work we do every day, communicating with our people, and making safety choices every day to ensure everyone gets home safe.
