Delmarva 811, the common name for the Utilities Service Protection Center of Delmarva, is a free service for professional excavators and homeowners in Delaware and Maryland. It serves as the “one call” so homeowners and other professionals to locate and mark underground utilities in the area where they are digging as well as notify utility owners.
Each year Delmarva 811 hosts the Locator Achievement Awards and Banquet. It recognizes Locators who have completed the following achievements:
- No At Fault utility damages
- Locate at least 1,000 tickets
- No major safety violations
This year, the banquet was held on April 25th and recognized nine Danella employees as Locators of the Year, the Harrington DE Casino 9 Danella Locators. Hope Neales, Tyrone Smith, Anthony Hancock, Paul Plaisted and Mike Kirwan were able to attend the banquet and accept the award for the team. Brad Lewis, Johnny Butler, Roosevelt Pope, and Ed Gaines were there in spirit!
