On Sunday, June 14, the Danella Family Fun Day brought together employees from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, along with their families, for an afternoon of celebration at the Elmwood Park Zoo. This day allowed everyone to reflect on the core values Danella embodies—bringing the community together.
What makes Danella successful isn’t just what gets accomplished, but rather who comes through the doors every single day and puts forth their best efforts. The Elmwood Park Zoo was an ideal location for a day filled with activities that would be family-friendly. Families explored the grounds at their own pace, taking in all the exhibits the Elmwood Park Zoo has to offer. Private shows added a little extra magic to the afternoon, and for those brave enough, a giraffe feeding experience gave families a memory that’s going to be hard to top. It’s safe to say that no matter your age, coming face to face with a giraffe has a way of being the highlight of just about anybody’s day.
Of course, no Danella event would be complete without great food, and Family Fun Day delivered on that front too. A cookout-style spread kept everyone fueled throughout the day, and free ice cream ensured that the only meltdowns were the ones happening in everyone’s cones. To cap it all off, a raffle gave attendees the chance to win some incredible prizes, including Phillies tickets, a Blue Stone Golf outing, a Capital Grille gift card, and a Beach bundle to keep the winners geared up for a fantastic summer. Safe to say, the competition for those was fierce.
But beyond the giraffes, the food, and the raffle prizes, what made June 14 truly special was simply the people who showed up for it. Danella’s greatest asset has always been its people, and Family Fun Day is one small way of saying thank you for the long hours, the demanding work, and the dedication they bring every single day. The families who stand behind our employees through all of it deserve to be celebrated too. This day was for them just as much as anyone. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a wonderful afternoon.
